Pearl Jewelry Favorites
When it comes to jewelry, I love to stick with classic pieces. And nothing is more classic than beautiful pearls. Over the last few years, I’ve strategically added pearls to my jewelry collection. After all, I would much rather invest in one quality piece than several pieces of lesser quality that will most likely tarnish and tire overtime. Since I wear my jewelry everyday, I need pieces that will last for many years to come.
When selecting finer jewelry, I prefer to stay away from trendy pieces. If you have the budget to splurge on fun, statement pieces, cheers to you! But if you’re someone just starting your collection or adding to it with a limited budget, I suggest investing in pieces you’ll actually wear frequently and long-term. Think about the outfits you have and what will go with the core items in your closet. Do you gravitate toward classic or eclectic things? Do you appreciate the latest and greatest or are you a vintage lover?
Likewise, consider what you do in a typical day. Since I’m on my laptop a lot, it bothers me to have a large stack of bracelets on my wrist. Instead, I wear only one or two bracelets- typically my watch and a David Yurman cable bracelet. Maintenance can vary based on the piece. Pearls cannot get wet since they are attached with glue, so I have to remove my pearl ring when I wash my hands. I have had the pearls come off my pieces before where I have to take them in to be repaired. If this would bother you, there are a plethora of pretty stones.
And for anyone who needs to hear this- you can mix gold and white gold jewelry! Don’t feel like you have to have only gold or only white gold unless that’s your style. Most of my pieces are white gold, but my gold and white gold watch ties in any gold pieces I may want to mix in.
I’m a single earring kind of gal with one piercing in each ear, so I rotate my earrings based on my outfit. I love a good statement earring, but studs are my holy grail, never-go-out-of-style, go anywhere earrings!
